Wednesday, September 17, 7:00 p.m.: – Welcome back event for members and guests at the Kona Vistas: You will receive a reminder phone call with the meeting location.

  • Brief overview of AAUW – Kona Branch
  • National AAUW Changes including Educational Foundation (EF) and Legal Assistance Fund (LAF)
    Presenter: Eileen MacCalla from Hilo Branch
  • Presentations/Sign-ups for GEMS, Book Group, First Friday, Scholarship, Ironman, Gourmet, Dining Out, Silent Auction, Bridge Group, and Study Group
  • Refreshments

Saturday, October 11: Help with Ironman Finish Line. – This is our Education Foundation fundraiser.

Friday, November 21: GEMS (Girls Exploring Math & Science) Program in Captain Cook.

Monday evening. Decenber 8, at the Keei Cafe: AAUW Holiday Dinner and Silent Auction. - This evening offers a great time to just relax and enjoy an evening out while also raising money for our local Scholarship Program. Watch for more information. Also, start looking for Silent Auction items. We appreciate new, nearly new, and nice antique donated items. Thanks in advance for your help.

Saturday, January ?, lunchtime: Joint luncheon meeting with the Hilo AAUW Branch. – It's their turn to organize this year. More information to come.

Saturday, February 7, daytime: Fieldtrip to sites near Saddle Road to see unique island habitats. Spouses/Guests welcome

Thursday or Friday, March 5 or 6: Luncheon at the Community College in Kealakekua – Exact date and time to be determined by the College Culinary Department.

Wednesday, April 1, 7:00 p.m.: April Fool’s Day: Equity is no joke! “Where the Girls Are” – "A look at AAUW’s latest report. Have educational gains for girls come at the expense of boys? (Panel of members and facilitated group discussion). Saturday, May 9, daytime: Outdoor event with picnic. Spouses/Guests welcome. – Save the day. We’re still reviewing the options.

Wednesday, June 10, evening: AAUW Officer Installation, Recognition of Scholarship Recipients, and Pot Luck Dinner. As always Spouses/Guests are welcome.
